| Debugging: Kernel Stop
Error Objectives |

|
1. Avoid these at all costs! :-)
| System Applet Recovery |

|
Recovery
- Write an Event to system log
- Send an Administrative alert - sends alert
to Admins when STOP error occurs
- Write debugging information to: (always
select) writes to MEMORY.DMP file.
- Checkbox to overwrite existing file for
write debug information. If you uncheck this, NT WILL NOT WRITE A FILE.
- Automatically reboot (do this only when
write debugging info to has been selected)
STOP error is when a fatal error occurs and NT stops all processes
and requires that the computer be restarted. For Recovery: to create a dump file,
PAGEFILE.SYS must be on your systemroot drive and it must be at least the size of
your physical memory (RAM).
